With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Riedel has introduced the Pink CrescendO set ($70) that features four durable, stackable and dishwasher safe pink Chardonnay/Voignier glasses, each in a different delicate shade of pink - from a whisper of pink to a rosy pink. Although Mr. Riedel’s favorite color is pink, he explains that: “Color in glass can jeopardize the look of the wine, it must be subtle. I thought adding a touch of color would make it fun.”
Due to popular demand, Riedel will continue to offer the Pink Vinum Rose set ($59).
CEO Maximillan Riedel began searching for a nonprofit partner for his company’s philanthropic endeavors. The mother of a close personal friend of his underwent breast cancer treatment and he saw the impact of the disease on the family. He said: “After people have been healed, they must live with the fear of the cancer coming back for the rest of their lives. LBBC made so much sense to work with because if you are healed, why not continue on with your life?”
In 2008, Mr. Riedel was awarded the Corporate Leadership Award by the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Organization. From 2005-2008, the limited edition glasses have raised almost $180,000 for LBBC.
The pink glasses are available on line at Riedel and Bed, Bath and Beyond and other online retailers.
