What is the difference between a Shiraz and a Syrah?

The same grape is known as Syrah in France and Shiraz in Australia. The name Shiraz for this grape variety is also commonly used in South Africa and Canada. In the United States, it is found under both names depending on the winery.

What is the ideal temperature to serve white wine?

Photo

White wine is best served chilled between 50-55°F. Serving white wine at the right temperature is important in capturing the optimal flavor and aroma of the wine. Serving a white wine too cold, masks some of the more subtle, delicate flavors in the wine. When enjoying a bottle of wine, many of us do not have a thermometer handy. An easy trick is to take your wine out of the fridge about twenty minutes before serving.
